I was recently admitted to the ER where Lehr was the on call surgeon. I had a very acute gallbladder attack and his residents and imaging confirmed it needed to come out right away. His residents told me Lehr would be doing the surgery. When he finally came around to visit me in the hospital 12 hours later, he was very short with me, cut me off when I was telling him my medical history and proceeded to tell me he wouldn’t be doing the surgery and that his partner would be doing it but probably not for two days. I was quite shocked when I found out his partner was 2 years out of school. I told the hospital I wanted someone with more experience. Over the next 24 hours Lehr’s resident visited me about 4 times to essentially convince me to check myself out of the hospital because they are the on call and nothing they can do if I didn’t want them to do the surgery. I ended up having to leave that hospital, went to a different hospital and had my surgery professionally taken care of. I do not recommend Lehr or his team.

Very disappointed in Dr. Lehr’s professionalism. I called last Friday with a referral for a second opinion on a surgery. His staff said they are not allowed to contact him until Thursday; the staff said that Dr. Lehr would be very unhappy to be contacted at any time prior to Thursday.

I received a call back the following Thursday and was told he does not involve himself in second opinions and does not care that he was referred or that I was quite desperate. He refused to even consult with his opinion.

A sense of common courtesy within the practice was absent and any internal communication system does not value prospective patient’s time or medical issues.

Dr Lehr is probably a fine physician, he wouldn’t have been recommended if he wasn’t; I just wish he operated with more compassion, courtesy, and respect with his communication.

His staff is above kind. Pamela specifically was a gem.

Wow I never thought I was ever going to leave a review on a surgeon but my week ended with severe abdominal pain. Went to the ER at HCA Lake City. Dr. Lehr was the surgeon working. I had not met him yet but the triage doctor that diagnosed me with the appendix issue. Told me that he had his appendix removed earlier in the year by Dr. Lehr and it went extremely well. This eased my nerves since Lake City has a horrible reputation for bad experiences. I was in the hospital room Friday, waiting in bed and Dr. Lehr walked in to introduce himself, he was very informative and easy to understand. He didn't rush through the conversation and wanted to make sure you asked all the questions. He was very confident but not cocky. Once he left the room, I was told it would be about an hour before I would be taken to the operating room. Well it didn't go that way. Another patient ended up with a far worse situation and needed to go before me. I wasn't mad or felt any kind of way about it because I was given meds to help with the pain. I was finally taken down stairs and Dr. Lehr came to see me in pre op and explained what happened with the other patient being an emergency situation which caused me to be pushed back and offered an apology. I personally understood already and only appreciated it that much more. He spoke with me for several more minutes as the nurses got me ready. I can't tell you how well he worked because I was put under but when I woke up things seemed very well. I was walking within 2 hours. He came to check me and gave follow-up instructions and again spent time being personable.

Overall my experience was beyond great. Dr. Lehr is very professional, personable and knowledgeable. Thank you Dr. Lehr.

I had a surgery 2 days ago with dr Lehr to remove my gallbladder and I want to thank doctor Lehr for his kindness and professionalism. The surgery was done at West Boca medical center and doctor was there on time, the anesthesiologist explained everything about the anesthesia and the surgery was successful. I’m recovering very well.

Dr Lehr is off the chain the best sweetest kindest doctor I’ve encountered in a long time.
He performed surgery on me many years ago and I wouldn’t give a second thought to see anyone else this time. Needed a second opinion which is why I here seeing him again

Dr. Lehr is an excellent, kind, compassionate surgeon. I had my gallbladder removed by a different surgeon and that evening I rushed to the ER because something went wrong and I was bleeding internally. Dr. Lehr did an emergency surgery on me and put me back together. He was able to go through the same incisions therefore avoiding cutting me open in an emergency situation. I cannot thank him enough. I highly recommend Dr. Lehr, He is definitely a go-to surgeon if you need an operation
